Nicolene Scott ~ Clinical Psychologist

ABOUT ME
I am a registered Clinical Psychologist in Somerset West. Invested in the emotional well-being and holistic development of my clients, I work to assist them in developing insight into their difficulties, current patterns of thinking and behaving, as well as relational patterns. The therapy sessions are therefore aimed at exploring with clients their inner worlds and experiences; past and present, and assisting them in becoming more aware of themselves and finding ways to become more functional in different aspects of their lives.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child and Family Psychology and my Honours Degree in Psychology at the University of Johannesburg. Following this, I spent three years working with children in both educational and therapeutic contexts before furthering my studies and obtaining my Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand. During my two years of internship training and community service in a number of government hospitals and clinics, I gained experience in working with adults, children and their families. In these settings, I worked as part of multi-disciplinary teams treating a variety of conditions. I then moved into private practice where I now offer both short and long-term, more in-depth therapy for a variety of difficulties and concerns, or to those who feel they may benefit from a reflective space that may facilitate personal growth.
